Went to the doctor yesterday...

I went to see my doctor yesterday. I needed to confirm my own ideas on what's wrong with my physically. Dr. William's pretty much told me I was right. I have PCOS or Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrom. I have to go for some more tests including an Ultra Sound and some labs just to make sure.

My hemoglobin is low, just 8.3 so I'm on iron supplements. It's kind of nice to know that I'm anemic and not imagining being totally exhausted all the time. I've been having problems getting through the day without a nap and having problems retaining information. Hopefully I'll get my iron back up within the next two weeks and will have some energy and some more brain function.

If you want more info on PCOS you can go to this site

The Continuing Saga of Pete The Peacock

This is what met me at the door this morning. Yeah. You know Peacocks in full preening mode are rather intimidating, but I did finally figure out what is so attractive about my front door...it's Pete's reflection. He looooovvves looking at himself in the glass of the door. "How pretty am I? No, no please, no applause necessary...I know I'm God's gift to peacocks."

Anyway, Belle (the teacup chiuaua) barked at him and he proceeded to fan his lovely feathers at her and strut in a circle. Mind you he never actually took his eyes off his own reflection. Vanity is sooo unbecoming. I couldn't wait for him to indulge himself forever so I shooed him away in order to take the dogs out for their morning constitutional. When I finally made it outside I saw what some of the fuss was about. Pete's girl was hanging out near by. I've named her Pansy. Anyway...they strutted off around the side of the house.

I'm trying to figure out how to keep them around. Living in Florida surrounded by hundreds of trees gives you lots of two things...BUGS and leaves. Well, Pete and Pansy can feel free to get fat on our bugs. I only wish they ate leaves as well.

Yeah, I know I need to rake. Whatever. Until the leaves stop falling it's a pointless excersise. It's like shoveling snow during a blizzard.

An Unexpected Guest

So, I was minding my own business, just leaving for work this morning when I opened the front door and found a giant peacock staring at me from about four inches away. Yeah! I almost had to change my pants. It's very disconcerting to walk out a door and expect to meet empty space and instead find a giant bird giving you the evil eye!

What did I do you ask? Well, I quickly stepped back into the house, shut the door and went running for my camera. When I got back outside he was lesiurly heading toward the side of the house so I followed him. I took a couple of pictures but they're really shaky. I don't know why, it may have something to do with nerves or something. Heh...

So here's the picture of my fine feathered friend. Debey has named him Pete. I just call him Pretty Bird (I think he likes it since he didn't peck my eyes out).

Peace out.

Disney's Pirate and Princess Party

So, Deb and I took her niece Rilee and Rilee's cousin Ashyr to the Pirate and Princess Party at Magic Kingdom on Friday night (Feb 22). It was sooo much fun! First: It's fun to take kids to Disney World. They get so excited and are so cute to watch. Second: There are NO LINES! You heard me people. We actually didn't have to wait in a single line. In fact on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad we didn't even have to get off the train and go around again. They just told us to stay on if we wanted. We road it three times in a row. It rocked!! Third: Everybody dresses up. There were even grown men with beer belly's dressed up as Prince Charming. It was darling! (Not to mention the 2 year olds dressed up as dreaded pirates! ADORABLE!)

I realize I'm using excess amounts of exclamation points but please forgive me. How else am I suppose to show my enthusiasm?

We stayed at Disney's Pop Century Resort which is a value resort. Honestly I wasn't to excited about it until we got there. It was lots of fun and the kids had a ball! Plus it was really cute. The feature pool had giant flowers that sprayed water like giant shower heads. Rilee even commented that she could just take her shampoo and shower there. (Too cute!!) We had breakfast at the resort in the morning *gasp* breakfast cost about $50 for 4 people *gasp*! I highly recommend the dining package if you ever visit. It'll save you loads of money.

Anyway we had so much fun that we decided to go again real soon. I've already made reservations for April.

I got May 1st through the 4th off so I can fly to Iowa for La and Clint's graduation. I bought my plane ticket and everything. Now I just need a place to sleep as the Comfort Inn is completely booked. I know because I called.

I'm looking forward to seeing my family, even just for a few days. The question is...will there be a party, cuz I'm hankerin' for a good vegi platter. *grin*

That is all for now...you may return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Disney's Animal Kingdom 2/15/2008

I met dad and Dery at Animal Kingdom today and had lots of fun. Another cast member I met got us VIP seating at Festival of the Lion King. That was lots of fun, especially the monkey's and the fire eater/dancer *very cool*.

I really enjoyed the Kilimanjaro Safari and all the animals, particularly the gorillas.

Anyway, here are some pics...
