Black Friday...my nemisis

I usually avoid Black Friday, it's not that I don't like shopping...shopping is my thang, but I don't like fighting crowds. It truly brings out the worst in me but this year I went with my sisters just because I wanted to spend time with them.

Yesterday I drove to my baby sisters house for Thanksgiving dinner expecting to find my mom and step-dad, my sister Emily and her kiddo's and my baby sister Laura her husband and kiddos and found an awesome surprise. My sister Sarah, her husband and kids had driven from Ohio to spend Thanksgiving with family! It was supposed to be a surprise but apparently I was the only one who they could keep it a secret from. I will admit, the moment I walked through the door and saw my sister I burst into tears. Yep, I'm kind of a sap that way. It was sooooo good to see her, the MOST AWESOME SURPRISE EVER!

So, of course after something that awesome I just wanted to spend more time with her and my other sister, so shopping among the hoards it was. And I must admit, it wasn't that bad. I think it was because Black Friday actually started on Thursday this year so there weren't hoards of people everywhere. Plus, I live in Utah where people are super nice, except for when they are driving, then they turn into maniacs.

I'm so thankful for my family. I have a feeling this is going to be a great Christmas.

I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving filled with people that you love.

Family Reunion!

Had a super fun day at my mom and step-dad's place. My four siblings, their spouses and kids were there and it was so much fun! My brother grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, mom made her famous potato salad and my youngest sister, in her wisdom, brought ice cream! Grandpa took the grandkids (11 of the 12) on horseback rides and later that night put up the tent and all the kids piled in to spend the night in the back yard (under grandpa's watchful eye). There was also a mad water balloon fight, which I wisely skipped out on, although I had devious plans to throw water balloons out the windows as the kids ran by beneath.

Happy Saturday!

So, last night I watched Biggest Loser recaps on Reality Nation Video on YouTube with Matt and Suzy Hoover. They were both on BL Season 2, in fact Matt won. It was one of my most favorite seasons. Anyway, the video I watched was the recap of the Season 13 finale. I didn't watch that season, I'm currently NOT into watching television (I go through fazes, which last a long time), and when I mentioned that I thought I should watch the back episodes more than one person advised me not to bother. Ya, I guess the season was just that bad. I decided to watch the recaps instead, and wow! I learned a lot about 'Reality' tv and it kinda freaked me out a little.

Here's the link if you're interested in watching. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CM0x-4M1R_U&feature=g-hist

I applied for the show, went to the casting call in Salt Lake City and recently sent in my video application. I strongly doubt they'll be interested in me, but it's worth a shot right? Right? After watching Matt and Suzy Hoover's recaps and learning a little bit about the behind the scenes stuff, I won't be too disappointed when they don't call me. (I'll just keep telling myself that)

This is me and Deni Hill at the Biggest Loser Casting Call in Salt Lake. She was so great! She showed us pictures of her grandkids. Is there anything cuter than a doting grandmother?

Onto other exciting news! My family is getting together tomorrow and I'm totally excited about it. We're sort of spread all over, though recently we've all started migrating back to the same state, but still it's a good, happy time when we're all together. I'm looking forward to having all my siblings together in one place, and all the nieces and nephews as well. Yippee!
